Milk Quality Technician

As a Milk Quality Technician you will work closely with producers to maintain, repair and install sanitation equipment and calibrate according to the specific needs of the producer’s operation. As a Milk Quality Technician, you will monitor critical processes on farms in an effort to maximize the producer’s goal to provide processors and end users with a clean, safe product for market.
Essential Functions

Provide technical advice to the outside sales force; on occasion accompany the outside sales force on customer calls.
Inspect milking and milk-handling equipment, provide technical support, triage and troubleshoot problems for dairy customers.
Clean and sanitize routine milking and milk-handling equipment; make any necessary product adjustments.
Provide customer with necessary controls and training to maintain product quality.
Provide customer with necessary controls to maintain product quality.
Escalate issue requirement manufacturer/vendor support to appropriate manufacturer/vendor.
Maintain accurate customer documentation and reports to keep customer/office informed of activities.
Maintain strong and supportive customer relationships; follow up with customer on a monthly basis and complete service check sheet.
Maintain relevant communication with internal partners on customer accounts, and customer status
May perform other milk quality technician duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Quality Technician:
High School Degree, or equivalent
At least 2 years of experience in the dairy industry or related field
Knowledge and skills of milking and handling milk-handling tools/machines (hand and power tools, barrel and gas/electric pumps)
Knowledge of Sanitation chemicals and characteristics/ safety precautions
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service skills
A self-motivated team player
Good oral and written communication skills
General computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications for quality technician:
Associate’s Degree in Business and/or Animal Health, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in SAP preferred.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands
Lifting or Carrying, occasional, up to 100 pounds
Sitting or Standing, majority of work day
Reading and sight, requires frequent review of customer information
Operate a computer of other office devices
Talking and hearing, position involves frequent communication with customers, inside staff, etc, and requires ability to understand and effectively exchange accurate information
Environmental Factors
This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.
Travel and On-call
This position requires occasional travel in a regional area.
The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $22.02 - $26.97
